Teaming Up to Get Home Safely

There are just too many alternatives to driving under the influence in our town to excuse not having a safe exit strategy from The San Juan Brewfest or any of our other incredible local events. Here’s a roundup of ideas and services that can get you and your crew home safely.

    Durango works hard to make it easy for pedestrians to get around safely. Utilize our abundance of wide sidewalks or the Animas River Trail and get your steps in for the day with a good ‘ol fashioned walk home.

    If you’re not taking advantage of FREE door to door transit, then what are you even doing? Not only is all Durango Transit fixed-route service FREE for everyone from June 1 – August 31, they’ve also made their evening microtransit door to door on demand service FREE from 5 pm to midnight.     Call your friend, your mom, your hair stylist, anyone who hasn’t been drinking today, and get a ride home! The San Juan Brewfest even offers discounted tickets for designated drivers. Because Brewfest can still be fun without the brews!

    Up to 35 breweries from around the country will be pouring some of their finest creations while three live bands keep us entertained for two days Downtown at Buckley Park.     Cortez Pickleball Day + Silent Auction

    Join us for an evening of family fun to benefit Team Up initiatives in Montezuma and Dolores Counties! Cortez Pickleball Club volunteers will lead a hands-on lesson covering rules, techniques, and gameplay basics. Then, from 6–8 PM, you'll get the chance to practice what you’ve learned in a fun and supportive round-robin format.
