AmeriCorps members receive a living stipend paid twice monthly throughout their service, with an additional educational award paid out at the end of a successfully-completed service term to be used at any Title IV institution.

As a member of our core or summer cohorts, members serve at one of our regional nonprofits, schools, and government agencies. Members are also offered many opportunities to gain experience serving with one of our Team Up Action Teams. Current available positions are posted below.

Looking to fulfill an internship requirement? Our internship programs start at 300 hours, and can often align with your internship requirements while earning a living stipend and an education award for your service! Our internships also serve regional nonprofits, schools, and government agencies.

The Youth Mental Health Corps (YMHC) members provide programming aimed at supporting youth mental health, as well as completing a Behavioral Health Assistant I micro-credential through Pueblo Community College. Current available positions are posted below.

Team Up has formed a partnership with the Farmer-in-Training (FIT) program at Fort Lewis College to address food security by connecting locally-grown food with our regional food system.
Applications for this program will first be fed through Fort Lewis College and the Farmer-in-Training program.

Community Engagement Coordinator

The Community Engagement Coordinator will deliver the LENA Grow program primarily to childcare centers that are not served by San Juan BOCES. Additionally, the Coordinator will deliver LENA Home program to engage and empower families with evidence-based practices that support the learning and growth of children, birth to three years old. The Community Engagement Coordinator will serve directly with center staff to support students’ language and overall brain development through increasing the adult interactive talk in the childcare center environment. Furthermore, the Coordinator will help families to support their child’s language and overall brain development through increasing the adult interactive talk in the child’s family environment, and may also help to engage other CCI staff in delivery of the program.
To support the SWCC program, the Community Engagement Coordinator will lead the design and development of the Community Ambassador Corps. This initiative will recruit and train residents with lived experience to help guide SWCC’s implementation and ensure the SWCC platform remains responsive to local needs. This includes creating the program framework, recruitment strategies, training materials, and monitoring/reporting systems, with guidance from the Senior Directors at CCI. This role is ideal for someone passionate about community engagement, social drivers of health, public health, and program development.

This is a Three-Quarter Time national and community service position requiring approximately 40 hours/week. The position begins January 14, 2026 and ends August 31, 2026. Flexible hours are required, including occasional evening and weekend commitments. Service on the following dates is required:
January 14-15: Team Up AmeriCorps Member Orientation
January 15: Meet n’ Greet with all Members & Site Supervisors
January 16: First Day at Host Site/Host Site Orientation
Jan 19: Dr. MLK Jr. Day Activity
March 31: Cesar Chavez Day of Service
April TBD: Spring Convening of Members & Site Supervisors
2nd Wednesdays, monthly: Cohort Connections

AmeriCorps positions require a certain amount of hours completed throughout the term (in this case, 1200 hours), and any significant time off will need to be agreed upon between site supervisor, AmeriCorps member, and Team Up AmeriCorps program staff.

A living allowance of approx. $1,115.63/per pay period (twice per month). Taxes are deducted and the living allowance is distributed by direct deposit to the member’s bank account.
An additional housing stipend is available through the host site.

An education award of $5,176.50 is available to the member upon successful completion of service term and can be used at any Title IV institution for up to seven years after service.

Summer Project Mobilizer

Team Up La Plata has been coordinating a summer scholarship initiative, Teaming Up for Summer, since 2023 that addresses top community-identified barriers to youth participation in out of school time activities. Over the past three years it has served 1093 with free and reduced cost summer programming at over 15 sites across La Plata County. Each year, Team Up participants identify new ways to meet the unique needs of our youth; ranging from coordinating interpretation and translation for non English speaking parents and hosting trainings for summer partner staff to better serve our youth to piloting a collaborative transportation initiative serving rural youth. The Summer Project Mobilizer will work with the Action Team, summer program partners, transportation providers, parents, and interpreters to help coordinate and improve our efforts to expand inclusivity and access to summer programming in La Plata County.

This position has the possibility of being a Reduced Half Time or Three Quarter Time national and community service position requiring 22-40 hours/week dependent on applicant availability and desire to serve in a full or part time capacity. If serving in a full-time capacity, the member will serve ~20/week with The Hive DGO, our project partners, in addition to their service hours with Team Up.

FIT Food Security AmeriCorps Member

While all Team Up AmeriCorps members gain experience and professional development during their term, some positions place an additional emphasis on developing members’ professional skills in a specific field during their Term of Service. These positions are part of Team Up AmeriCorps’ Workforce Track (WF). WF members may be required to meet additional qualifications and/or requirements to qualify for and complete these positions. WF members can expect to receive robust field-specific training and obtain field-specific credentials during their Term of Service. Upon successful completion, WF members will be equipped to begin their career and continue supporting people to thrive through their gain field-specific skills.
The Farmer Training Program at the Old Fort is a growing and multi-faceted answer to farmer training in the Four Corners region. Welcoming everyone from college interns for brief summer experiences to incubator farmers ready to start a business, the Old Fort offers good (and challenging) growing conditions, supportive staff, a lively farming community, and rich resources for high elevation market farming. Located 25 minutes from Durango or Mancos, and 45 minutes from Farmington, NM, the Old Fort is a 6,000 acre property that is also managed for wildlife conservation and for cattle and hay production. Managed by Fort Lewis College, the land is owned by the State Land Board.
