Team Up AmeriCorps

Trying to fulfill an internship requirement as a degree seeker? Looking for professional development in work-based learning? Wanting to serve your community through a local nonprofit? Team Up AmeriCorps may be a great fit!

AmeriCorps members receive a living stipend paid twice monthly throughout their service, with an additional educational award paid out at the end of a successfully-completed service term to be used at any Title IV institution.

  • As a member of our core or summer cohorts, members serve at one of our regional nonprofits, schools, and government agencies. Members are also offered many opportunities to gain experience serving with one of our Team Up Action Teams. Current available positions are posted below.

  • Looking to fulfill an internship requirement? Our internship programs start at 300 hours, and can often align with your internship requirements while earning a living stipend and an education award for your service! Our internships also serve regional nonprofits, schools, and government agencies.

  • The Youth Mental Health Corps (YMHC) members provide programming aimed at supporting youth mental health, as well as completing a Behavioral Health Assistant I micro-credential through Pueblo Community College. Current available positions are posted below.

  • Team Up has formed a partnership with the Farmer-in-Training (FIT) program at Fort Lewis College to address food security by connecting locally-grown food with our regional food system.

    Applications for this program will first be fed through Fort Lewis College and the Farmer-in-Training program.

  • Team Up La Plata has been coordinating a summer scholarship initiative, Teaming Up for Summer,  since 2023 that addresses top community-identified barriers to youth participation in out of school time activities. Over the past three years it has served 1093 with free and reduced cost summer programming at over 15 sites across La Plata County. Each year, Team Up participants identify new ways to meet the unique needs of our youth; ranging from coordinating interpretation and translation for non English speaking parents and hosting trainings for summer partner staff to better serve our youth to piloting a collaborative transportation initiative serving rural youth. The Summer Project Mobilizer will work with the Action Team, summer program partners, transportation providers, parents, and interpreters to help coordinate and improve our efforts to expand inclusivity and access to summer programming in La Plata County.

  • This position has the possibility of being a Quarter Time or Half Time national and community service position requiring 20-40 hours/week dependent on applicant availability and desire to serve in a full or part time capacity. If serving in a full-time capacity, the member will serve ~20/week with The Hive DGO, our project partners, in addition to their service hours with Team Up.

    The position begins March 5, 2026 and ends August 31, 2026. Flexible hours are required, including occasional evening and weekend commitments. Service on the following dates is required:

    • March 5-6: Team Up AmeriCorps Member Orientation

    • March 7: First Day at Host Site

    • March 31: Cesar Chavez Day of Service

    • April TBD: Spring Convening of Members & Site Supervisors

    • 2nd Wednesdays, monthly: Cohort Connections & Trainings

  • AmeriCorps positions require a certain amount of hours completed throughout the term, and any significant time off will need to be agreed upon between site supervisor, AmeriCorps member, and Team Up AmeriCorps program staff.

    • Part Time Applicants: A living allowance of approx. $666.41/per pay period (twice per month). Taxes are deducted and the living allowance is distributed by direct deposit to the member’s bank account.

    • Full Time Applicants: A living allowance of approx. $1,115.63/per pay period (twice per month). Taxes are deducted and the living allowance is distributed by direct deposit to the member’s bank account.

  • An education award of $1,956.35  (part time) or $3,697.50  (full time) is available to the member upon successful completion of service term and can be used at any Title IV institution for up to seven years after service.

Restorative Practices Coordinator

  • The Restorative Practices Coordinator (RPC) will play a pivotal role in supporting a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for Mancos Summer Hub participants. The RPC will implement a system that embeds restorative practices to foster positive relationships, resolve conflicts, and promote social-emotional (SEL) growth. They will work closely with the Hub Director and On-Site Counselor to conduct RP and SEL lessons, lead restorative circles, provide peer mediation, de-escalation, and conflict resolution strategies, equip staff to do the same and provide recommendations for embedding this in the Summer Hub model generally.

  • This is a Minimum-Time national and community service position requiring, at a minimum, a total of 300 hours during the year (approximately 40 hours/week) The position begins June 2, 2026 and ends August, 15 2026. Flexible hours are required, including occasional evening and weekend commitments.

    Anticipated Service Schedule (dates subject to change):

    • June 2: Team Up AmeriCorps Member Orientation (TAMO) (approx. 8 hours)

    • June 3-5: Orientation to, and setup of, Service Site and operations (approx. 24 hours)

    • June 8 - June 26: Mancos Summer Hub direct service (approx. 40 hours/week)

      • Mancos Summer Hub hours are generally M-Th 7:30 am - 5:30 pm

    • Week of June 29: Mancos Summer Hub break (0 hours)

    • July 6 - July 23: Mancos Summer Hub direct service (approx. 40 hours/week)

      • Mancos Summer Hub hours are generally M-Th 7:30 am - 5:30 pm

    • Week of July 27: Summer Hub Debrief & Reporting Week (20 - 40 hours)

    • Weeks of 8/3 -8/15: Final Tasks/AC Closeout (10-20 hours/week)

    • Cohort Activities:

      • June 10th - Team Up AmeriCorps Training (all day, in-person)

      • July 8th - Team Up AmeriCorps Cohort Connection Call (10 am - 12 pm, Zoom)

  • AmeriCorps positions require a certain amount of hours completed throughout the term, and any significant time off will need to be agreed upon between site supervisor, AmeriCorps member, and Team Up AmeriCorps program staff.

  • A living allowance of approx. $861.65/per pay period (twice per month).

    Taxes are deducted and the living allowance is distributed by direct deposit to the member’s bank account.

  • An education award of $1,565.08 is available to the member upon successful completion of service term and can be used at any Title IV institution for up to seven years after service.
