AmeriCorps members receive a living stipend paid twice monthly throughout their service, with an additional educational award paid out at the end of a successfully-completed service term to be used at any Title IV institution.

As a member of our core or summer cohorts, members serve at one of our regional nonprofits, schools, and government agencies. Members are also offered many opportunities to gain experience serving with one of our Team Up Action Teams. Current available positions are posted below.

Looking to fulfill an internship requirement? Our internship programs start at 300 hours, and can often align with your internship requirements while earning a living stipend and an education award for your service! Our internships also serve regional nonprofits, schools, and government agencies.

The Youth Mental Health Corps (YMHC) members provide programming aimed at supporting youth mental health, as well as completing a Behavioral Health Assistant I micro-credential through Pueblo Community College. Current available positions are posted below.

Team Up has formed a partnership with the Farmer-in-Training (FIT) program at Fort Lewis College to address food security by connecting locally-grown food with our regional food system.
Applications for this program will first be fed through Fort Lewis College and the Farmer-in-Training program.

Youth Mental Health Corps Member

Four Corners Rainbow Youth Center (4CRYC) seeks 1-2 passionate AmeriCorps members for the Youth Mental Health Corps. Members must be enrolled in or entering graduate-level studies in Social Work or Counseling (MSW or LPC candidates). Members will support Rainbow Youth Center attendees through individual therapy, youth programming (clubs, field trips, events), case management, and crisis advocacy. YMHC duties include facilitating Crime Victim Services Programs, serving on a multidisciplinary crisis team, and completing graduate-level internship requirements. Additional responsibilities include data tracking, mandatory reporting compliance, trauma-informed practice, and participation in Team Up regional trainings and Days of Service. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, culturally aware, compassionate, and committed to serving the LGBTQ+ youth community.

This is a 900-hour national and community service position requiring approximately 20 hours/week. 20% of total hours, or approx. 15 hours/month (subject to change based on host site needs and member coursework) can be spent in documented graduate program coursework approved for the Youth Mental Health Corps. The position begins September 9, 2026 and ends August 31, 2027. Flexible hours are required, including occasional evening and weekend commitments. Service on the following dates is required:

A living allowance of approx. $750/per pay period (twice per month). Taxes are deducted and the living allowance is distributed by direct deposit to the member’s bank account.

Afternoon Family Connection Host

This AmeriCorps member will fill an important gap in afternoon programming at The Community Treehouse. This role will help create welcoming spaces, educational activities, and playgroups that engage families and older children throughout the summer. Team Up AmeriCorps members serve directly at their Host Site organization to develop, implement, and enhance programs, projects, and activities through direct and indirect service. Duties include:
Create and lead educational activities, playgroups, and community-building opportunities for children and parents
Build connections among families to reduce parent isolation and strengthen community relationships
Support older children and families during summer afternoon hours with meaningful and engaging programming
Assist with activity setup, organization, and maintaining a welcoming environment
Encourage participation in Treehouse programs, events, and family activities
Promote positive interactions, inclusion, and a supportive atmosphere for all families
Collaborate with staff and volunteers to strengthen family engagement and community
outreach
Team Up AmeriCorps Duties, Tasks, and Cohort Activities

Attend Team Up AmeriCorps regional trainings, cohort connection days, and Days of
Service
The Connection Host would focus on building connections, reducing parent isolation, and creating meaningful opportunities for families to gather, learn, play, and feel supported. This role would expand afternoon outreach and strengthen The Treehouse as a community hub for families. This role is ideal for someone who is community-minded, organized, warm, and passionate about supporting families.

This is a Half Time national and community service position requiring approximately 25 hours/week. The position begins September 9th, 2026 and ends August 31, 2027. Flexible hours are required, including occasional evening and weekend commitments. Service on the following dates is required:

● It is possible to temporarily postpone repayment of qualified student loans through forbearance
while serving as an AmeriCorps member
● Mileage reimbursement for travel to required AmeriCorps trainings and gatherings
● Non-tangible benefits including extensive training, valuable experience, networking, and the opportunity to serve the local community in a crucial area of need
● Ability to utilize Bayfield Community Treehouse facilities for own children during service hours.

Community Engagement Coordinator

The Community Engagement Coordinator will have two main projects:
(1) Develop Interactive Information Guides for Key Community Audiences. The overall goal of this project is to document the lived experience of community members to map pathways to getting help and link those pathways to the SWCC Resource Directory so that others can avoid common pitfalls to finding and receiving needed services.
(2) Plan Community Convenings. Collaborate with SWCC staff, community ambassadors, and care partners to create and execute a plan for community engagement through events such as resource fairs and care partner meetings that will accomplish multiple organizational goals. Some of these goals include educating the public about community services, connecting care partners to build stronger relationships, and facilitating collaboration to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of referrals.
Duties and Responsibilities: Team Up AmeriCorps members serve directly at their Host Site organization to develop, implement, and enhance programs, projects, and activities through direct and indirect service. Duties include:
Essential Functions (Primary Responsibilities):
(1) Develop Interactive Information Guides for Key Community Audiences
Interview a diverse range of community members to assess their needs for services, their
help-seeking successes and challenges, and their use of resources such as the SWCC Resource
Directory
Based on learnings from the interviews, develop “personas” that describe characteristic types of
community members such as parents of children with special needs, families with unmet basic
needs, adults with disabilities, and older adults experiencing dementia or social isolation
Draft information guides for each persona that incorporate interactive links to services in the SWCC Resource Directory as well as helpful tips from the lived experience of interviewees for
overcoming barriers and successfully navigating and engaging with community agencies and
service providers
Identify any gaps or limitations in the Resource Directory for this purpose and make
recommendations for how SWCC can address those gaps and limitations
Collaborate with the SWCC web developer to design, test, and incorporate the guides into the
SWCC website so that they are most useful to intended community members and care partner
staff
Refine the guides as needed based on feedback from users
(2) Plan Community Convenings
Solicit needs and ideas from stakeholders
Research best practices and options for convenings (resource fairs, etc.)
Develop a detailed plan and calendar of events to meet identified goals
Coordinate the staging of events with SWCC staff
Gather feedback from attendees on the effectiveness of the events
Refine plans for future events based on lessons learned about what works best
Track host site and AmeriCorps data
Attend Team Up AmeriCorps regional trainings, cohort connection days, and Days of Service
Marginal Functions (Secondary Responsibilities):
Explore how the resource guides can be incorporated into an AI chatbot
Support community ambassadors to share the resource guides in the community
Support care coordinators/navigator to use the resource guides in their casework
Network with other community care hubs to share learnings about community convenings

● Mileage reimbursement for travel to required AmeriCorps trainings and gatherings
