Team Up AmeriCorps

Trying to fulfill an internship requirement as a degree seeker? Looking for professional development in work-based learning? Wanting to serve your community through a local nonprofit? Team Up AmeriCorps may be a great fit!

AmeriCorps members receive a living stipend paid twice monthly throughout their service, with an additional educational award paid out at the end of a successfully-completed service term to be used at any Title IV institution.

  • As a member of our core or summer cohorts, members serve at one of our regional nonprofits, schools, and government agencies. Members are also offered many opportunities to gain experience serving with one of our Team Up Action Teams. Current available positions are posted below.

  • Looking to fulfill an internship requirement? Our internship programs start at 300 hours, and can often align with your internship requirements while earning a living stipend and an education award for your service! Our internships also serve regional nonprofits, schools, and government agencies.

  • The Youth Mental Health Corps (YMHC) members provide programming aimed at supporting youth mental health, as well as completing a Behavioral Health Assistant I micro-credential through Pueblo Community College. Current available positions are posted below.

  • Team Up has formed a partnership with the Farmer-in-Training (FIT) program at Fort Lewis College to address food security by connecting locally-grown food with our regional food system.

    Applications for this program will first be fed through Fort Lewis College and the Farmer-in-Training program.

Community Collaboration Mobilizer

  • The Team Up AmeriCorps Community Collaboration Mobilizer fills an important role in helping move action forward within Team Up Action Teams primarily in Montezuma County. The  Mobilizer will support each Action Team in implementation and coordination of their projects, ensuring momentum across each topic area in the community. The Mobilizer will have a unique “birds eye view” of some of the largest challenges facing children, youth, and families in Montezuma County, as well as of the efforts to address them. The Mobilizer will attend each Action Team meeting to stay informed of the issues and related solutions, as well as be a part of the discussions on how to collaboratively address issues at a population level. Under supervision of the Director of Community Collaboration, the Mobilizer will coordinate and mobilize projects and processes within Action Teams. The Mobilizer will serve primarily in Montezuma County but will have occasional opportunities to serve in Dolores, La Plata, and Archuleta Counties.

    Applicants considering this position should have a reliable vehicle as public transport is not available and travel is required.

  • October 14, 2025 - August 31, 2026 at 30 hours/week*

    *20-25 hours/week option available for the right candidate.

  • Time off will be coordinated between site supervisor and AmeriCorps member and depend on hours served per week since this position is less than 40 hours per week.

    Schedule flexibility is available with adequate notice.

  • $853.13/per pay period (twice per month). Taxes are deducted.

  • An education award of $5,176.50 upon successful completion of term of service.

Community Food Educator

  • The Community Food Educator’s main focus will be on education surrounding food literacy in the local schools and at the food pantry. They will assist with in-school lessons and out of school programming and create community outreach events focusing on nutrition, food production and resource conservation. They will be assisting with food distribution and community outreach through educational events. When serving in the schools, the AmeriCorps will focus primarily on elementary aged students, with an occasional visit to the middle schools. At the Good Sam's Food Pantry, they will be serving with the existing volunteers and also the population that visits the pantry during food distribution.

    Applicants considering this position should have a reliable vehicle as public transport is not available and travel is required.

  • October 14, 2025 - August 31, 2026 at 40 hours/week*

    *This unique position spans two AmeriCorps service terms due to the timing of harvesting seasons, but member must be willing to commit to both terms to apply.

  • Time off will be coordinated between site supervisors and AmeriCorps member, but sick time, holiday time, and occasional early release is accounted for in the hours/week calculation throughout the term.

  • $1,115.63/per pay period (twice per month). Taxes are deducted.

  • Education awards equaling $6,514.64 in total upon successful completion of both terms.

Community Intake & Data Coordinator

  • This position serves as the first point of contact at The Hive, welcoming youth and community members at the front desk and ensuring a warm, inclusive environment. Responsibilities include checking in participants, maintaining accurate attendance and program data, supporting internal policy implementation, and assisting with the organization’s youth mental health initiatives. This role plays a key part in creating a safe and supportive space by monitoring participant well-being, identifying needs or concerns, and connecting youth with appropriate resources. By balancing administrative tasks with empathetic engagement, this team member helps uphold The Hive’s commitment to safety, equity, and youth-centered care.

  • October 14, 2025 - May 31, 2026 at ~25 hours/week

  • Time off will be coordinated between site supervisors and AmeriCorps member, but sick time, holiday time, and occasional early release is accounted for in the hours/week calculation throughout the term.

  • $853.13/per pay period (twice per month). Taxes are deducted.

  • An education award of $2,817.14 upon successful completion of both terms.
