Fiscal Sponsorship FAQs

Do I need my own EIN?

No. Under our fiscal sponsorship, your organization will become a “project” of Team Up. That means you will use our EIN whenever promoted for this number. This also means you do not need to do any tax filings of your own.

Do I need to register with the Secretary of State?

No. For your own business purposes, you may want to. But we do not require it.

How will our finances be kept separate from yours?

In most cases, we will open a separate, joint bank account with your organization for which all of your income and expenses will flow through. We will keep a separate set of QuickBooks for your organization for easy reporting and tracking as well.

What sort of fee do you charge?

The type of fiscal sponsorship we offer is called Model A. With this type of sponsorship, your organization receives the most hands-on support of all the models. This inherently comes more risk and administrative cost to the sponsor (Team Up). Therefore, there is a 10% administrative fee for all our fiscally sponsored programs so that we can continue to provide the highest-quality support.

What is your application process like?

Please complete the narrative questions below and provide the appropriate and applicable documentation as indicated. Once we receive all of your information, we will review internally and determine if partnership seems like a good fit for both you and Team Up. If so, we will present your application to our Board of Directors for preliminary approval. If approved, we will get together with you to draft our final fiscal sponsorship agreement. Once completed, we will take this back to our Board for final approval and welcome you to the Team Up family!
